Organization Inspiration and Motivation: Making More Floor Space

This is our coat closet in the living room. I wanted to add a shoe rack in here for my running shoes and the boys play shoes that usually are left by the front door or in the garage. There was not much room on the floor though.

I found a shoe tree that works great because it stores the shoes vertically not horizontally.

I also got a hook to keep the steam mop off the floor because it sometimes falls over and hits the closet door and scares me....lol.

Then I looked on the back of the Kirby attachment container and there were 2 holes to hang it!
Now with that off the floor I can push the vacuum back further and make more floor space.

That is all I just wanted to inspire someone that was looking for more floor space to see what they could pull off the floor and hang on a wall instead =)

I like the shoe tree! We use baskets by the doors right now, but maybe I will look for a tree to use intead. :-)

I didn't even know they existed so I am pretty excited about it =)

Can I aske where you purchased that at? I live in a very old farm house that does not have any closets except in bedrooms and we put our shoes by our back door, but it bugs me. I like the idea, thanks!

That's the craziest thing - I just noticed last week that our Kirby attachment-holder-thingy has holes in the back for mounting on a wall. I've been contemplating doing that as well!

That is too funny Melissa, considering not that many people own a Kirby...lol =) I still have the bulky boxes for the carpet cleaning attachments and hardwood floor buffers that don't look pretty....
