Earth Day Everyday!

1 Corinthians 10:26For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof.

So I think that it was earth day on Saturday or something....I know there are a lot of people who have a misunderstanding about a christian's part in helping keep the earth clean. Some people say that we don't care about the earth because we send money to missionaries and not to help the baby whales. Some say we have too many children and are contributing to global lying...er I mean "warming". This does not mean that as a christian family I teach my children to throw trash on the street and eat plastic food. In fact in our neighborhood I find it is the people who do not believe in God that throw the most trash out on the street!

There is a bus stop at the end of our street that seems to have been mistaken by many Missourians as a city dump. I took the boys down there and we all picked up trash! When I go on runs in the morning I will pick up any trash that I find on the 2 mile path I run. However I will refuse to send money to help an endangered wild boar in South America while there are missionaries to support! Animals and plants do not have eternal souls so no matter how much we try and help them survive this world it will not matter in eternity. This world is going to be burnt up with fire coming soon 2 Peter 3:7
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men. We MUST focus all of our efforts on eternal matters! Mark 8:36
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

good post!
I think trash control, especially like you do, is a great example of living The Golden Rule, to do unto others.

Hi, I just started reading your blog recently, after I found it from your post on moneysaving mom. I just have to say amen to this, and to your post about "helping" those poor "victims" that go to payday loan places while caring nothing for all the unborn babies who are murdered each day.

Thank you Rhonda, I almost did not want to move into our neighborhood because of all the trash around! Then I realized that our family could make this neighborhood a better place following after Christ!
Hi Anonymous =), I am glad you agree with my convictions in this world of hypocritical politics =)
