And the Winner isssssssssssssss............Judith Schimdt

blue ribbon (large)
The Winner to what I am sure you are asking yourself???  We are expecting our fifth child! I had been thinking I was most likely pregnant for a month or two but finally really confirmed it with a pregnancy test last week. I was feeling pretty sleepy almost everyday, the veins in my legs were enlarged and I was maybe a little grouchy.....but no morning sickness Praise the Lord. This will be the first birth not funded by tax payer money via Tricare. My husband is self employed now and our insurance is a bit ridiculous paying $500 a month with an $8,000 deductible....so basically we will be paying cash for every medical expense short of  a serious life altering health problem. With all that being said we found a really great midwife for a great price! For $2,800 we get a christian woman with 19 years of experience! She has seen it all; breech babies, twins, short cords, cords wrapped around the neck multiple times, face presentation and delivered all of them in a home! I will be getting a sonagram to confirm the due date but right now it looks like we might have 5 kids while the oldest is still only 6 years old! Here is her website if you want to check it out and read some of the birth stories on there including some twin home birth stories!

Oh my Gosh I am so happy for your family! So will you be having this baby at home? Are you a little nervous about a home birth and having 5 children? How does your hubby feel about this? How old will your little girl be when this child is born? How exciting for you, you will definately have your hands full, does that make you even a little bit nervous?

Praise God that He has chosen to bless you and your family with another child.I pray that you will have a smooth pregnancy and good delivery. I too used a midwife for the birth of my son and loved the experience. My husband said he felt that the midwives are more knowledgeable than most doctors! I pray you have a great experience.

I know what you mean on health insurance. My husband is a self-employed remodeling contracter (since going on our own last Aug we have been swamped w/work. God has blessed us in so many ways, My husbands has been in the business for over 20 yrs) & we have an insurance policy that we pay over $600 a month for with a $10,000 deductible, no prec card or co-pay with doctor visits. Can we say OUCH!!! Also congrats to you guys on the new baby :)

That's wonderful news! Congrats. :-)
I want to have a home birth next time, too! My second son was born in a birth center in Australia. Which was nice, but I think home will be even better! :-)

Thank you everyone! I am yes a little nervous about throwing in a fifth wheel...lol. I looked at a Birth center place here in springfield and it was almost double the home birth midwife!
Shanna wow please tell me you have at least 6 kids!!! What company?

Kelly,

LOl no I have only 3 children which are one daughter age 24 & 2 sons ages 16 & 18.

Our insurance covers only myself, husband & the two boys. Our daughter is covered through her work.

Our insurance is Golden Rule.

Friends of ours had the same insurance, same amount of kids (diff ages tho) & just received an increase of premium by 40%. Needless to say they switched insurance companies.

Now I'm pretty nervous what ours will go up to b/c we really can't afford anymore in cost. We most likely will end up looking elsewhere.
